Thoughts on Television

Trebek acts like he doesn't need his cue cards.

Terrible dancer Bristol Palin was not booted off Dancing the stars; Brandy, a good dancer, was. Bristol also made it to the finals on Dancing with the Stars for some reason.

William and Kate's engagement seems to be one of few things happening in the world at this moment.

Family Guy made jokes about suicide and drunk driving in a single episode. I also recall an episode that featured a musical number called "Down Syndrome Girl."

Two and a Half men "humour" always seems to involve bodily functions and the objectification of women.

Oprah's "Favourite Things" Christmas show is evidence that her audience needs to calm down.

I don't find How I Met Your Mother funny at all.

The Duggars on 19 Kids and Counting have way too many kids. I know I am supposed to marvel at the dozens of bottles of pickles they have to pack for a road trip, but instead I just wonder if Mrs. Duggar blushes when she bites into the pickles.

Horatio on CSI: Miami needs to cut his incessantly sardonic inflection and decide whether to keep his shades on or off.

Victor Newman on the Young and the Restless needs to speak up because I have no idea what the hell he is saying.

  1. Hahahah! This was great! Family Guy makes my jaw drop every time (for the record HUBS puts it on, and I complain.)

My mom used to watch Young and the Restless YEARS ago, and he didn't speak up then either.

  2. Awwww, I'm so sad that you don't find How I Met Your Mother funny. It's one of my favourite shows!!!

  3. Vicki - Thank you for your enthusiasm. I really appreciate it. It's good to know someone understands how I feel! Ha ha.

Laura - Yes, I have noticed through your blog/FB posts that you are quite a fan! Unfortunately, I just don't get "How I Met Your Mother." Thanks again for reading and commenting! Such a loyal friend you are...

  4. Victor on The Young and the Restless is old. I still think he looks great...... Hope that you are keeping well,

  5. You know what I like best about Jeopardy? Trebeck 'interviewing' the contestants. It is a long list of nerdy stories!

Trebeck: So, Mark. I understand you had an interesting experience in a bowling alley?

Mark: Yes. I guess my ball hit the pin setter in the head and knocked him out. So, they gave us a free game.

Trebeck: Interesting. So, Jane do I understand this correctly? You got married under water?

Jane: Well, so to speak. We were saying our vows by a pond, and we fell in.

Trebeck: Interesting. And Robert, our returning champion....Do I have this right? You wet your pants on an airplane?

    Robert: Yes, I guess I was over-hydrated.

Trebeck: Interesting. OK, our categories are:

Penguins who refuse to march. (Notice that MARCH is accentuated.) Famous Leprechauns. The Stock Market in 1979, Children of the Corn, and Who was that Masked Man?
