Through telling her very personal story, she is using the presentation skills she taught me and her public figure status to motivate people to save a life. Blood donations are down at this time of year.
Donating bone marrow is also very important, as I learned through my year as a Child Life volunteer in the Bone Marrow Transplant of The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
It doesn't take much time and it costs no money. Learn more about how you can give the gift of life by checking out the Canadian Blood Services or your local blood donation organization.

If I could, I would. I applaud those who take the time out to help others.
ReplyDeleteA timely post - we never know when we might be the grateful recipient of a stranger's blood.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2012 to you and yours:-)
Ashely, thanks for the encouragement, will do one day. Wishing you happy new Year, good health, love and peace. Anna :)
ReplyDeleteTsaritsa - I am also ineligible to donate blood. It's a shame, isn't it? I want to help the cause! I'm hoping that this post will at least encourage others to donate and I hope someday I'll be able to donate too.
ReplyDeletejabblog - Yes, that's one motivation, put beautifully. We could all need it someday and I love the idea of giving back with blood, like what Liz has done. Thanks and Happy 2012 to you too!
Anna - I'm glad if it encouraged you! Happy New Year as well, Anna!
