It's depressing what can be justified under the veil of "awareness."

Bottled Water: Meet Your Opponents
This weekend I visited the Water Brothers exhibit at the Green Living Show and learned about how these guys use their television documentary series of the same name to raise awareness about water issues.
When I got home, I watched my first episode: Watergate. In it, the Brothers dispel myths that bottled water is safer and tastier than Canadian tap water. They also explain how the extraction of water and the packaging and disposal of water bottles are hurting the environment.

Hot Docs Festival Showcases Social Health Issues
Toronto will soon be exploding with documentaries from all over the world thanks to Hot Docs, the annual Canadian International Film Festival.
I am very excited to attend, as I am a big documentary buff. I haven't been to the festival since 2007, when I volunteered and saw some films.
I received my Hot Docs Screening Guide in the mail today and my, there are so many great docs to choose from! Here are some that I intend to see:

Experience
"I know how you feel."
Many people say this to show empathy and support to someone who is going through a difficult time. This sentence has bothered me for years because it oversimplifies a person's experience and is often an inappropriate thing to say.
