Heart and Stroke Foundation Health Check Program Deceptive

I recently Tweeted my concerns to the Heart and Stroke Foundation about its Health Check program, a label certification that purports to show consumers which food products are healthy choices. I've noticed that many Health Check products are high in sodium. Here is our communication on Twitter:

A Good Pen

Do you write a lot? Are you prone to hand fatigue? Do you have pain or motor skill issues with your hands?

I recommend you try a Dr. Grip  pen. I have some mild motor, strength and pain issues with my hands because of some health issues, but they can be quite debilitating when I write a lot, which I tend to do, because I'm a writer.

I used a Dr. Grip pen in elementary school and high school to help me write for longer periods, more clearly and with less pain. For some reason, I didn't bother to get ink refills in high school and went eight years using regular pens. You know, because I'm so tough.

The Tree

I visited a park tonight during my evening walk. I read plaques on the benches, laid there to honour people who had died. I wondered about what kind of people they were, why they died and what motivates people to honour their dead this way.

I thought about time and memory, how a plaque sort of immortalizes a person. I wondered how long the plaques had been there, if loved ones came to visit it. I thought about all the plaques endured. The snow, the rain.

Rob Ford and Weight Discrimination

Why do so many people think it's okay to use weight discrimination against Rob Ford because they dislike his politics and decisions? I have some big problems with this.

1. If you make fun of the weight of a fat person you don't like, you are making fun of the weight of everyone who is heavy.
